To parents of mixed Filipino, Spanish, Chinese and American blood, I was born in Manila, raised in Vancouver, and returned to the Philippines in my early teens. Two decades later, I resumed life in Canada last year, to discover it is still as much home as my native country I'd just bid farewell. I may have left all the countries I have lived in, but those countries have not left me. Manila, Manhattan, Australia, Canada and all the places on the journeys to and fro -- they find their way into my writing. A novelist by craft, a journalist by trade, my work revolves around the worlds words recreate from ours in order to find out where we've come from, who we are, and where we can go. CLOSE THE WINDOW
