Robert Jaros
I like to think of myself as the product
of Old World attachment to tradition and New World spirit of discovery.
Born into a large family (five kids) in a working class neighbourhood
of Montréal (Ville Émard) of a down-to-earth French-Canadian
mother and a head-in-the-clouds Slovak father. I grew up among
admonitions to hardwork and pastroal tales. I’ve been (among
other things) a demolition worker (sledgehammer virtuoso), a bartender
(in an espresso bar), a sexology researcher (seriously), and a
diplomatic protocol liaison officer (i.e.cocktail party planner).
So naturally I ended up a reporter. I love radio, its intimacy,
its imagery. Above all, I love the job where I get to meet ordinary
people with amazing stories to tell.CLOSE
